Sustainability & CSR

We care about your success
As a globally operating company, Jomo (a subsidiary of HVEG Fashion Group) feels responsible for all activities carried out on its behalf.

Responsible business
Our products are available throughout Europe at the most diverse retailers, supermarkets and shops. This entails a great responsibility: ensuring that all our products are produced under the right conditions by the right people and the right suppliers in accordance with the applicable quality standards. With an eye for the makers of our products, the end consumer and the environment.

Within our group we only work with suppliers and partners who are prepared to comply with our group Code Of Conduct and the initiatives we support. Our Code of Conduct describes our standards that we consider essential in our partnerships with suppliers and that we want to see reflected throughout the entire supply chain. All our suppliers have signed our Code of Conduct with which they have made a commitment to (continue to) comply with these standards.
Sustainable business occupies an important place within our business strategy. Not only do we know where our products are made and under what conditions, our production units are also audited to see if the producers adhere to our code of conduct and its implementation.

We recognize that there are plenty of issues we cannot solve alone and we believe collaboration is key to bringing about change. That is why within the group, with some entities, we have been a participant in the amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative BSCI for years and/or have signed the Bangladesh Safety Agreement, an initiative that aims to make working conditions for employees in clothing factories safer in the field of electricity, building and fire safety.

Our themes
Sustainable entrepreneurship is indispensable in today's society and we work together with our customers on more sustainability. Within Jomo, sustainability is therefore an essential part of the policy and decision-making process. We constantly ask ourselves how we can improve our production chains and have regular consultations about which steps have already been taken and which still need to be taken.
In order to formulate appropriate answers to major social phenomena and the most important social themes on which we as an organization have an impact, we have aligned our CSR strategy with the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. These must put an end to poverty, inequality and climate change. Within the framework of this sustainability agenda, we have selected four main themes on which we as an organization believe we have the most influence: SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation), SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth), SDG 12 (responsible consumption and production) and SDG 15 (life on land).

Our initiatives
In addition to the above, Jomo also offers its customers the opportunity to purchase a wide range of certified products with its entities:
       - Organic cotton (GOTS/OCS)
       - Recycled materials (GRS/RCS)
       - Better Cotton Initiative (BCI)
       - Cotton made in Africa (CmiA)
       - Materials free from harmful chemicals (Oeko-Tex Standard 100)

In addition, we are always looking for new initiatives and we also offer other options within the HVEG group, including Repreve.

Fixation
Because we believe it is important that we also put our promises and agreements on paper, we have drawn up various documents that contribute to our sustainability objectives.
       - Code of Conduct - Our code of conduct describes standards that we use to successfully do business with each other.
       - Better Everyday Report - In our Better Everyday Report we describe how we respond to the transformation to a more sustainable textile world.
       - External Grievance Mechanism Policy - Our external accountability mechanism has been set up in order to respond correctly to complaints and/or questions from external
parties who feel they are being negatively influenced by us.
